Renet Simirenko and Skryzhapel ordinary were taken as parent specimens. Crossing was carried out in 1935, and the seedling began to bear fruit in 1947. In 1979, the variety was entered in the State Register. Recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, where it is widespread. A temperate climate is suitable for cultivation. There is evidence of the cultivation of this apple tree in Lipetsk, Orenburg, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, as well as Belarus and Ukraine.

Apple variety Kutuzovets

Apple trees Kutuzovets are characterized by medium growth, form a flat-round crown of medium density, which becomes spreading with age. In this regard, tree maintenance and pruning are not very demanding. The uterine branches extend from the trunk at a steep angle, firmly attached to the base. Biennial seedlings are moderately developed, their upper shoots extend at right angles.

Young shoots are grayish-brown, perennial branches are greenish-brown. Shoots straight, medium thickness, pubescent. The formation of the crop occurs mainly on twigs, spears and ringlets. In young plants - mainly on twigs and spears.

The leaves are dark green, shiny, of medium size, oblong-oval or elongated-oval in shape and a curled tip. The lower part of the leaf is characterized by strong pubescence, which makes the edges look like bordered. The leaf blade is weakly folded along the central vein, along the edge it has a single-double-serrate serration. In relation to the axis of the shoot, the leaf blade is located almost at a right angle.

The flowers are white-pink, medium-sized. Flowering takes place in medium terms (second - third decade of May).

The fruits of the Kutuzovets apple tree are of medium size, one-dimensional, weighing 110 - 130 g (the largest reaches 150 g). The shape of the fruit is flat-round, with a weakly expressed wide ribbing. The peduncle is of medium length and thickness. The saucer is small and folded, weakly expressed. Calyx half-open or closed. The funnel is narrow and deep, golden orange, with smooth walls. The sub-cup tube is small, funnel-shaped, does not communicate with the seed nest. Seed nest of medium size, onion-shaped. Seed chambers are closed, the seeds are small. The skin is of medium thickness, not rough, with a slight waxy coating, looks like marble; in the period of removal it has a light green color, as it ripens, it turns yellow and a slight weak striped cherry-colored blush appears on it. The subcutaneous punctures are large, white, numerous, clearly visible. The pulp is dense, juicy, fine-grained, white-greenish, with a weak aroma. Immediately after removal, the taste of apples is sweet and sour, spicy, pleasant, there is a slight aftertaste inherent in Skryzhapel. But during this period they are still very tough, so it is recommended to eat them last, after the fruits of the autumn and early winter varieties run out.

Removable ripeness of apples occurs at the end of September. The fruits that have reached ripeness are able to stay on the branches for a long time without dropping, which allows you to choose a convenient time for harvesting. They do not crumble even after frost, when all the leaves have fallen and there is snow. Apples acquire optimal taste and marketability in November - December. The fruits are well preserved until April - May, even in an ordinary cellar, and sometimes they are stored until the next harvest.

It is preferable to plant this variety on Anis seedlings. Semi-dwarfs are best suited as a stock. If grafted onto a dwarf rootstock, the crown of the tree will grow low and underdeveloped, which is inconvenient when cultivating the soil in the near-trunk circle.

The first fruits appear on the apple tree in 5 - 7 years from the beginning of the growth of the eyepiece. Fruiting is annual, with very rare interruptions. The average long-term yield is 113 c / ha.

Drought resistance of the variety is high. Average winter hardiness. Resistance to scab and powdery mildew is above average, to fruit rot - high. The plant is characterized by good regenerative ability.

Under favorable growing conditions, Kutuzovets is one of the best apple varieties intended for industrial cultivation.

This year, the Kutuzovets apple tree delighted us with delicious apples. Planted in 2019. Stunted. The apples are prettier than the picture. One-dimensional. Very aromatic. They took it off on September 20, they were afraid of frost. Practically does not crumble. For all the time, 3 apples fell from the tree. But we still have to wait for the apples to ripen: those that were removed green after a month and a half shrank. At the moment, the apple is tough, but juicy, sweet. Has its own peculiar taste. In general, we are glad that we have planted this apple tree. A bucket of apples a year after planting - great!
