Tomato variety Konigsberg golden

It turns out that yellow tomatoes are not only healthier than red ones, but also have dietary properties. But among them, perhaps the most popular in terms of taste is the Golden Konigsberg, which is a subspecies of the well-known red-fruited variety. Koenigsberg... And although the golden variety is not included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, it is successfully grown in open and closed ground in all regions of Russia.

Description

The plant is indeterminate, growing up to 1.5 meters in open ground and almost 2 meters in a greenhouse. The stem is powerful, the foliage is medium. The leaves are large, on long cuttings, drooping. The color is light green. The leaf plate is slightly twisted, slightly wrinkled. The stem and lateral shoots have a slight descent. The internodes are long. The inflorescence is of a simple type. The stalks are strong, do not break under the load of the crop. Fruit clusters are formed after 1 leaf, so the plant turns out to be hung with bunches of tomatoes. The number of inflorescences depends on the place of cultivation and the method of formation. In the open field on a bush, up to 6 clusters can form, in a greenhouse - up to 8. Fruit clusters are full, each with 4 to 6 tomatoes.

The fruits of Koenigsberg golden look extraordinarily beautiful. The shape is elongated, cylindrical, even, with a nose protruding at the top. The skin is shiny, firm. In an unripe state, the tomato is light green with a darker spot at the stalk. In the period of maturity, the spot disappears, an even orange color appears. For its bright cheerful color and high carotene content, the fruits of this variety are often compared to apricot. The pulp is fleshy, moderately dense, juicy, but not watery. Seed chambers from 3 to 6 pieces. The taste of tomatoes is excellent. Regardless of the growing conditions, the taste will be dominated by a sweet, slightly fruity note, the sourness is barely caught. The unanimous assessment of the palatability is solid 5. Tomatoes are rather weighty, especially in the first clusters, where their weight can reach 450 grams, and on the higher fruits they will be smaller. Overall, the average weight is around 300 grams.

Characteristics

  • In terms of ripening, Koenigsberg Golden belongs to the mid-season;
  • the yield, according to reviews, is very good. With normal care for the season, gardeners remove up to 2 buckets of fleshy tomatoes. Some sources say about 35 - 40 kg per 1 square meter per season;
  • the subspecies is distinguished by good stress resistance, it is not for nothing that it comes from Siberia. Ovaries are formed in any weather;
  • fruiting in the variety is stretched, the ripening of the crop can last until frost. If this happens, unripe fruits can be removed, they are perfectly ripened in room conditions;
  • the culture is highly resistant to late blight, but if the rules for growing in greenhouses are not followed, it may be affected by apical rot;
  • transportability of fruits, due to dense pulp, excellent, keeping quality too;
  • the way of using tomatoes is universal, although they are primarily used in their natural form. Also, the fruits of the Golden Konigsberg are allowed for processing and conservation. They even make jam from sweet tomatoes.

Agrotechnics

Regardless of the place, there is only one preferable way of growing the variety - seedling. Sowing for seedlings is carried out 60 - 65 days before transplanting to a permanent place, therefore sowing dates are individually calculated taking into account the characteristics of the region. It is necessary to transplant the seedlings very carefully, since the seedlings have long leaves, which are often confused with each other. Planting density - up to 3 pieces per 1 square meter. Form the plant into 1 or 2 stems.Be sure to tie up on a support. In the greenhouse, growth should be limited after the formation of 8 fruit cluster. Stepsonizing is mandatory, but careful - you should not remove more than 2 stepsons per week. As the harvest progresses, the lower leaves are cut off. Top dressing is made universal, they can be alternated with organic matter.

According to the reviews of those who at least once raised the Golden Konigsberg, this is an almost ideal variety. It is very fruitful, with good immunity, easy in agricultural technology, but the main thing, of course, is that this tomato has a unique taste. It is not a hybrid, so the seeds can be harvested on their own for further breeding.

The variety is amazing! I really love yellow-fruited tomatoes, so every year I try to try the fruits of new varieties. I met this three years ago, I liked the tomatoes not only for their taste and yield, but also for their early maturity and good immunity. The bushes grow tall, strong - without a garter, they can easily withstand a large number of fruits. Be sure to form a bush - a stepson and remove the leaves after the first brush is tied. Tomatoes are dense with fleshy pulp, so they can "lie" for a long time and gradually ripen without losing their high taste.
