Radish variety Duro Krasnodarskoe

Radish is a rather unpretentious culture, which even a novice gardener can grow. Well, and to start acquaintance with this vegetable is best with high-yielding and unpretentious varieties, such as, for example, Duro Krasnodarskoe. On the market, this variety can be found under the name Duro, and this is most likely a marketing ploy that seed companies believe increases sales. In 2005, our hero was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia. Due to its good resistance to adverse weather conditions, it is allowed for cultivation in all regions of the country. The applicant and originator of the remarkable novelty is the Peasant farm "Bychkov L.M." The State Register recommends a variety for growing in personal subsidiary plots. It is perfect for open ground, film shelters and greenhouses.

Description

The radish leaf rosette is semi-erect. The leaves are obovate, 20 - 25 cm high, the petiole is medium, has a weak staining with anthocyanin. The leaf blade is juicy, green with a yellowish tinge. The root crop is beautiful, large (in diameter it can reach 5 - 7 cm, sometimes more), rounded, with a flat head. The skin is thin, smooth, bright red. The tail is thin, short. The pulp is white, dense, crispy, juicy and tender, with a high content of essential oils and mineral salts. The taste of the variety is excellent, sweetish, slightly pungent. The mass of marketable root crops according to the State Register is 23 - 25 grams, according to other sources - 30 - 40 grams.

Characteristics

  • The State Register classifies Duro Krasnodar as a mid-season variety. It is worth noting that seedlings appear evenly and amicably. After their appearance, 25 - 30 days pass before the harvest;
  • Thanks to such a fast growing season, several harvests can be obtained per season. For this, experienced gardeners recommend sowing seeds at intervals of 10 - 14 days;
  • the yield is good. The State Register provides data on 2.4 - 2.6 kg per square meter. According to other sources, this figure reaches 3.2 - 3.4 kg from the same area;
  • the variety is appreciated by gardeners for its resistance to shooting. True, some vegetable growers warn that such a problem may nevertheless arise in a too thickened garden;
  • radish does not crack regardless of growing conditions, thanks to this it retains an excellent presentation. It is also worth noting that the vegetable does not outgrow, does not suffer from hollowness;

  • immunity is quite high, which is confirmed by gardeners. There is resistance to major diseases, but preventive treatments are still worth carrying out. Of the pests, the cruciferous flea can become the most annoying; folk remedies, for example, garlic tincture, or repellent plants planted nearby: calendula, coriander, nasturtium will help to cope with it;
  • Duro Krasnodar has high adaptive abilities. This allows you to get a guaranteed yield even in the zone of risky farming. Excellent heat resistance is also noted;
  • the crop is perfectly transported even over long distances;
  • the keeping quality of the variety is excellent; if the storage standards are observed, the radish does not lose its juiciness and does not become bitter. When planted in autumn, the vegetable can be stored for about a month;
  • way of consumption - in natural form, for preparing salads.

Agrotechnics

Sowing can be done at the earliest possible date, for example, in February, provided that the plant is sown in an unheated greenhouse. In open ground, radishes are sown from April to July. The distance between the seeds is 4 cm, the row spacing is 7 cm, the seeding depth is about 1.5 cm.In the open field for a vegetable, you need to allocate a sunny area. Our hero prefers loose and fertile soil, such as loam. But subject to frequent weeding and loosening, the variety will grow on almost any soil. The plant treats watering very well, but it is not worth overmoistening the garden bed. Of the fertilizers, our hero prefers phosphorus-potassium and nitrogen. Ash can be used, but it is not recommended to feed manure. The variety grows well in joint plantings with beans, lettuce, onions, peas, garlic.

Duro Krasnodarskoe is a favorite variety of many, suitable for any region. The vegetable has an excellent appearance and excellent taste. It can be grown in open ground, under a film shelter, in a greenhouse - the result will be equally good, and the harvest can be obtained more than once a season. Nursing facilitates the culture's ability to resist underlying diseases. I would also like to note the resistance of radish to shooting, the ability not to outgrow and not to form hollow root crops. The plant is unpretentious in care, but watering should be done correctly.
